Photography has impacted society in several ways. This is especially the case when you look at the long-term lifespan. Its uses in professional settings and personal settings have given people the chance to capture moments of intense beauty, as well as helping them to share something special with the world. Photography also gives people the chance to capture important moments as they happen, over the years. If you want to find out how digital tech has changed or if you want to learn more about how things work then take a look below.
The Origin of Photography
Photography dates back way further than what most people think. The first cameras could only project a small image onto a surface but they were not able to capture the image in general. People used pinhole images from the 4th century until around the 16th century and at this point, tech became way more advanced. This iteration helped to make way brighter and sharper images. It was also used as a drawing aid by several artists. These portable boxes were known as camera obscuras, and they helped to create the foundation for future models.
Of course, this is very different to what we know now due to the fact that you can easily use a photo book maker to keep your prints safe, and you can take a digital photo in seconds. That being said, to get to this point, we had to go down a very long and windy road. If you want to find out more about this then take a look below to see how tech has changed.
Tech Developed
As tech carried on developing, so did the face of photography in general. Preliminary models were able to capture images but they could only do so if they were working with certain conditions. The cameras required subjects to remain very still and they only produced one image at a time. You had to have a very long exposure time if you wanted to capture everything. Photos were only available as a negative and even then they were susceptible to damage if you exposed them to a lot of light. This takes a ton of time and patience, and this is why the only cameras you would see around, were used by professionals.
Photo Storage
Since then, things have come a long way. Tech has helped to revolutionise photo storage as we know it. Photo scanning gives people the chance to make copies of the physical photos that they have and you also have the option of negatives, slides and prints. Digitising photos helps to eliminate the chance of physical damage from occurring and this is great to say the least. It’s not hard to see that photos have come such a long way and at the end of the day, it looks like a lot has been done to try and make sure that people are able to get what they want, how they want it.
