Android users will find that they can access Meet right in the Gmail app. Google has started rolling out the Google Meet integration within the Gmail app. The tech giant has announced earlier that they will be adding this feature on both iOS and Android platforms.
Android smartphone and tablet owners should be able to see a new dedicated tab and join video meetings without needing anything else. Presumably, the next step for Google will be to add Chat on iOS and Android.
Admin control for Meet is largely absent. Google states that users can disable the tab by going to Settings, then the Meet section and finally de-select ‘Show Meet tab for video calling’.
The Meet feature is available to both G Suite and personal account holders, but not for Education accounts that have their ‘create video meetings’ disabled. If this is the case, then they’re advised to download and use the dedicated app instead.
