Do you have space left in your house and do you not know what to do with it? There are lot of great opportunities an empty room in your house have to offer, but you just have to think of them. In this blog, we’ll list five ideas for your empty room. Get inspired!
1. Storage
We’ll start practical: an empty room in your house can function perfectly as a storage room. It’s likely that there’s a lot of stuff in your house you don’t know where to place. By changing the empty space in your house into a storage room, you now do know where to place this. Storage rooms can be overlooked easily, as many people see it as one big pile of mess, but if you organize it well, it can be incredibly useful.
2. Spare Bedroom
Do you often receive guests? A spare bedroom is needed in your house then! Most of the time this bedroom will be unused, but if you receive guests, it’s always good to have a spare bedroom available. Is the weather bad, or did things get a little too sociable? Your guests won’t have to drive home anymore. You can decorate the room just how you want to, but we recommend not spending too much time on this room, as the room most likely won’t be used a lot.
3. Office
COVID is unpredictable. It looks like we’re ready to get our lives back on track again, but who knows when the next wave will hit. To prepare for this, you might want to build an office room into your house. This increases the effectivity of you working from home, and will make things a lot easier. Of course, going to the actual office is a lot more fun as you get to speak colleagues, but if there’s no other option, you do want to make your own working experience as good as possible.
4. Your Own Casino
Do you and your friends like to spend time playing casino games together? The empty room in your house could be turned into your own casino quite easily: install everything that’s needed to fulfill this experience, like a poker table, a roulette and maybe even a slots machine. If you play these games with your friends, you can put money on the line, but you don’t have to. However, it could be fun to turn these games into a competition, which you could keep track of a leaderboard.
5. Cinema
Are you and your partner total movie freaks? Make your movie experience even better by building your free room into a cinema room. This can be done by installing a big television screen and some comfortable chairs. We suggest buying either a Chromecast or an HDMI-cable to support this room, as this allows you to stream from your laptop. The lights in this room should also be flexible, as horror movies ask for a different scene than a funny romance.
