What sets someone apart in the film industry is not technique or skill, but rather work ethic and ambition. Mann Robinson is a perfect example of this principle. He opened a 20,000 sq foot film studio in Atlanta with the hope of attracting some of the largest names in the industry to create films.
Mann Robinson is an accomplished writer, director, and producer with more than 16 projects under his belt. For as long as he can remember creativity and entrepreneurship have been at the forefront of his interests. Early in his career he was a rapper, which led to discovering an interest in technology and movie making. He states, “I chose directing because there’s no age limit to it… With film, you can go on forever. So many stories. Like these pictures on the wall. So many memories that can be turned into a film.”
Mann has directed and produced an impressive canon of work ranging from horror films,
thrillers, as well as some comedic projects. He received wide ranging recognition for his role as the executive producer of “Turnt” and “His, Her, & the Truth”. His latest project stars Vivica Fox, Clifton Powell, and Darius Mcrary called “On Ten”. Mann has worked with major production companies like Nickelodeon.
Mann takes pride in the work he has done and hopes that his career will inspire other
individuals to pursue the lifestyle of their dreams. His advice to the dreamers is ““No matter what, how or why, just do it and don’t stop. Just work hard and nonstop and your dream will be a reality.”
With 15 years of experience in filmmaking, Mann has established himself as a powerhouse independent filmmaker. He already has projects streaming on BET, Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Roku, and Tubi. Now, he has turned his focus to include book writing, with the successful release of A Look Into: Black Independent Filmmaking (currently available). He is soon releasing Sebastian (the novel) and Sober as Fuck—The New Drunk.
