As part of the Urban Redevelopment Authority’s plans to make Singapore a vibrant home for locals and foreigners alike, the northen regions has been a focal point in their plans lately. The most recent development that is completed was the Woodlands Integrated Transport Hub (ITH), the biggest in the country yet. Opened on 13th June 2021 Sunday, the ITH connects the new bus interchange just below Causeway Point shopping mall with the Woodlands MRT interchange, which serves the Thomson-East Coast Line and the North-South Line. Residents at Woodlands and the neighbouring regions appreciation this new change, as the clean and air-conditioned environment adds comfort to their commute within the hub. When asked if this new addition to the North will attract new home owners to the upcoming Watergardens at Canberra Showflat, experts on the matter unanimously say it will.
“The addition of better infrastructure and amenities to an area has a spill over effect to the neighbouring estates, especially Sembawang which has always had a close connection with Woodlands”, says Mr Wong, a home owner in the north for his whole life. “That being said, we can expect appreciation in property prices in the area, which will add pressure on The Watergardens at Canberra Price, since its is going to be set at a competitive rate to attract home purchasers.”
Most HDB flat owners in the area also welcome this new addition, stating convenience and safety. This is the same as when the Canberra MRT station and the Canberra Plaza was introduced into the nearby estate. Residents can go from their flats to the Canberra Plaza to get their groceries, or to the MRT station to commute to other parts of Singapore.
When One North Eden was conceptualised, it had the same intention where residents can reach shops and eateries in the outlets below the development, next door at the One-North Residences, or follow the sheltered walkway to Galaxis where the key amenities and the MRT station is located. That’s is why as of this writing, only 16 apartments are left for sale in this new condominium at One-North.
