There was a Great Big Hint
Fans of Rick and Morty are in for a Christmas treat. Back at the beginning of December, a clip for the season six finale hinted at a Christmas special. Finally, die-hard fans this weekend were able to tune in and get their Christmas fill.
The Twitter account Swimpedia shares updates and news on everything to do with Adult Swim. Adult Swim streams Rick and Morty. In the UK, fans can watch on Channel 4.
The tweet said,
“Tune into @adultswim on Sunday, December 11th at 11:00 PM to catch the final episode of Rick and Morty Season 6, ‘Ricktional Mortpoon’s Rickmas Mortcation!’
There was a short clip showing Monty, Summer, Jerry, Beth, and Space Beth in their living room, surrounded by decorations, generally enjoying Christmas. The viewer then sees Rick putting on a Santa hat and entering the room with a large sack of presents.
A call to action
On the 11th of December, the Swimpedia account put out a reminder call to fans with a tweet saying,
“New Tonight on Adult Swim: 11:00/2:30 Rick and Morty: Ricktional Mortpoon’s Rickmas Mortcation 11:30 Adult Swim Yule Log”
What happens in the episode?
Fans were able to watch the Season 6 finale when Rick gave everyone a present from the multiverse. First, he used his portal gun to go to a different dimension. Then, after several twists and turns, Rick brings a lightsaber back from the multiverse as a gift to Morty. Eventually, there is a big reveal which we won’t tell you about here, in case you want to watch the episode for yourself.
Other gifts brought by Rick include a copy of Miracle on 34th Street, which was two hours longer than the 1947 film. In addition, the Beths get framed photos of themselves with Rick in another universe. Finally, Summer is given cash – because that is what every teenager wants. The episode is now available to view on All 4.
Fancy a Rick and Morty marathon?
As if that isn’t enough excitement for fans of Rick and Morty fans, the Swimpedia account also announced that there would be a Rick and Morty Season 6 marathon on Wednesday, 28th December. If you are a fan and don’t have any other plans, this could be the perfect antidote to a family Christmas. The schedule starts at 8 am and runs all the way through to 4 pm. That is quite some epic Rick and Morty viewing. This might not be excessive to the most ardent fans, but others might find their members not as keen to join in.
Play Rick and Morty
Rather than participating in an all-day marathon, you could spread your Rick and Morty viewing out over a longer period. A suitably dystopian app game is available where you play as Rick. You get to yell at Morty in your garage until a Mysterious Rock pops up and ruins your life. The game features over 300 bizarre Mortys, and it is your job to collect and stack them. You could also try your luck at the Rick and Morty “Wubba Lubba Dub Dub” slot game. It is a five-reel, 20-pay-line game from Blueprint Gaming, and it can be played on a few of the most secure and best PayPal casinos. If you prefer your slots to have Megaways action instead, Blueprint Gaming also has a Rick and Morty Megaways slot.
It’s not only Rick who brings presents
If you know someone who is a fan, you might want to pick them up some official merchandise as a present. There is plenty to choose from. Or maybe you would like to bag some for yourself. The online shop has a great range of kit, including the perennial sweatshirts, t-shirts, and hoodies. There is also a great range of mugs and backpacks to choose from. If you want to join in that marathon, all of the previous episodes are available to buy on DVD. You could just cuddle up in a Rick and Morty fleece blanket and hibernate until spring.
